It appears the folks behind Clutchy Hopkins have created an official website:

It's got a collection of info about Clutchy, a blog with articles, links to his Myspace, plus an official Facebook & Twitter. Visit Clutchy's MySpace page go to the music player, and click "Song For J Sole", a brand-new track that was ripped from Jeremy Sole's late-night show on KCRW 89.9. Clutchy called into his show and wrote a song for him.

OkayPlayer posted an article about Clutchy and alking Backwards (scroll down to Blogarhythms Jan. 21). The post runs through a quick list of the usual suspects (Cut Chemist, DJ Shadow, MF Doom, etc), and describes the record as sounding like "secret samples from never-before-released beats by the RZA, Madlib and Mobb Deep".

Clutchy's gotten some props for his last album in a lot of year-end reviews. Gilles Peterson (big influential DJ for BBC Radio) picked one of the Clutchy Hopkins/MF Doom remixes for his "35 Best Tracks of 2007" list. Review site Hip Hop Crossroads gave it a 4 out of 5. Music blogger Shawn Avery put "Life of Clutchy" in his Top 10 Albums of the Year, going as far as to call it a "no-brainer" purchase. A few other random blogs make mention of the record, and while one speculates he's actually Shawn Lee's alter ego (doubtful), no one offers any real new information.

Also, an LA radio show's website posted a major article about Clutchy. Their mission is "to provide the soundtrack to mind expansion and enlightenment through music". The article talks about a mystical experience where the spirit of Clutchy guides the writer's computer to his MySpace, then takes him on a halluninated trip to the sound of his music. Wow.

I discovered this by following RichRok, the YouTube account credited with uploading the "Dudley Perkins Collab" clip mentioned in a previous post. RichRok also posted this video:

video clip of a DJ named Rich Rok spinning and scratching at a hip-hop show. Rich Rok is also credited on the Clutchy/MF Doom remixes.
